What is a European Eco-label?
The European Eco-label Services for tourist accommodation were set up in 2003. Since 2003, they have been adopted by an growing number of hotels throughout France and Europe.
Tourist organizations with a European Eco-label must meet the following conditions:
- low energy consumption
- low water consumption
- low production of waste
- use of renewable energy and environmentally safe products
- communicating and educating their customers about environmental issues
They must satisfy a strict set of criteria described in specifications set out for all EU countries. In France, only three 5-star hotels, including the Château de Berne, have been awarded this certification.
"We do not inherit the earth from our parents, we borrow it from our children" Saint-Exupéry
If you love to be in contact with nature, you will not be disappointed with a stay at the heart of our Provençal vineyard. In this unique, unspoilt site, you will find an outstanding service which is driven by a desire to create a quality, sustainable tourist destination.
Thanks to this determination, and the active participation of our staff, we have been able to implement an action plan, over several phases, which has earned us a European Eco-label.
The Community Eco-label for accommodation services means our hotel services have a limited impact on the environment throughout their life cycle (from purchases to service provision and waste). In particular, the certification aims to reduce waste (getting rid of individual packaging for products used in our rooms and kitchens) and consumption of energy and water (a rare resource in Provence).
Our hotel provides a free charging station for electric cars.
