TERRA ROSSA

In the heart of Provence, in Salernes, discover the House of Ceramics: Terra Rossa.

This former factory has been given a contemporary makeover by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte to create a museum devoted entirely to architectural ceramics. It's a veritable voyage of discovery, with a special focus on the famous tomettes.

A visit to the museum begins with an archaeological exhibition presenting 7,000 years of ceramic activity in the Salernes area. It continues with a reconstruction of the production lines for the famous tomettes as they were at the beginning of the 20th century. You'll find yourself at the heart of a factory at a time when Salernes was exporting its products all over the world.
