La Bergerie
The Bergerie de Berne: a return to pastoral roots
Nestling in the heart of the 515-hectare Château de Berne estate, the new sheepfold embodies a renaissance in Provençal pastoralism. Under the leadership of Lilou, a passionate shepherdess, and Calixte, the flock flourishes with 15 Corsican ewes, a red ewe from Roussillon, dwarf and alpine goats, and two horses. Every day, Lilou maintains a rigorous feeding routine, distributing hay and grain to ensure the animals' well-being while respecting local traditions.

An immersive experience at the heart of rural life
In addition to its agricultural role, the sheepfold is now open to visitors in search of authenticity. Immersive activities will soon be on offer: taking part in caring for the animals, learning about transhumance techniques, and accompanied walks in the pastures. You'll also be able to enjoy picnics in the countryside and learn how to herd dogs. This initiative is part of our drive to promote the living heritage of Provence, offering a bucolic and educational interlude in a protected natural setting.
